I was following the "Jones story" over the summer with occasional posts here. He was pushing for a trade for some time as he was unhappy with Williams and Richards ahead of him on the position (with some other vets like Plumlee in the past seasons). He never really got a chance in Charlotte. His "demands" reached much uncomfortable levels, publicly trashing his teammates (saying he is better than them) and similar. It was pretty much obvious that the end result will be Charlotte cutting him while he will have a very hard time getting a new chance in the league.
In any case, Mavs have their development center. Not sure he would find any more happines in Dallas than he had in Charlotte, related to his playing time and opportunity.
