Just for a second, let's say that LeBron really does decide to retire. How does that affect the Kyrie equation?
1. I can't imagine him wanting to go play there, without his friend LeBron.
2. I can't imagine the Lakers wanting to rebuild around 31-year-old Kyrie.
Who else is competition to sign Kyrie (or S&T)?
It seems like he's landed in a pretty good spot. The team is pretty good, probably better than last season's record indicated. With the addition of one or two mid-level players, might actually challenge for a championship. His role is complementary, and expectations aren't sky-high that he will carry the full responsibility for wins and losses. There are lots of serviceable pieces on the team. They've got good locker-room chemistry.
I think he re-signs.
