Yes, he has been a favorite of mine for years. In all honesty though, we probably did not have the package for him the last two years. But those types of hard nosed role players who make winning plays are guys we need. I have liked watching the playoffs and identify these guys who would work well on the Mavs. They are available. You just need to identify them. Hartenstein is another who had some really big plays today. The Knicks could have offered more money this offseason. There were reports Hartenstein would have taken the tax payer MLE to stay with the Clippers but they decided to use it on John Wall. So it wasn't a pure money thing. Dallas could have offered a starting role on a playoff contender. Did they even try for him? If so, could they not sell that vision? It could have been a compelling conversation.
I won't hit on the Brunson thing. I feel like I have hit that horse so many times. I will just say, Luka is watching. The Mavs better gain Luka's trust this offseason with some good moves. Or I think it is going to get real ugly pretty fast. I hope I am wrong.
