I mean there are usually 5-6 guards elected in each conference depending on injury. Not saying Brunson CAN'T make it, but he's not having a super standout statistical season that makes him a more attractive name over guys like DeRozan/Lavine/Ball/Beal, and that's usually needed to break through.
The last 2 have injuries so they may be disqualified. Demar and Lavine are doing better than Brunson in almost every statistical category. Add on Brown/Harden/Mitchell/Kyrie and we have 6 right there.
And we can't forget another fringe guy in Dejounte Murray who's having a similar season to Brunson statistically too. Point is there are a lot of good guards in the East, and while Brunson is having a great year, he isn't having a clear cut all-star year imo.
