AROUND the NBA: ATL Jumps from #10 to #1 in Lotto| Pistons Mull Firing GM
Question:  I just saw the Hawks  resigned Cooper for a two Way contract.  He was a second round pick for them last year.  Does that mean, he could have signed as a two way with someone else?

I may be wrong, but as I understand it Cooper was already on a 2-way deal that expired. Since 2-way deals are usually for 1 season, the Hawks gave him a qualifying offer that made him a restricted free agent at the beginning of free agency since he has been in the league less than 3 years.

No team gave him an offer so he signed his QO which just so happened to be another 2-way contract for 1 year.

So yes technically Cooper could've signed a 2-way with anyone else this offseason, but the Hawks had dibs to match.

He will fit in perfectly there.  Will have trouble making the roster and will probably need to fight for a two way spot.  warriors signed max Mcclung earlier in week as the same chance to win the last roster spot. He had a strong summer league.  Just keep finding interesting players.  Most will flame out but They are uncovering every rock for talent.  Invested in two rookies too.

Phone rings.

Danny: *Oh great another one calling about Vanderbilt.* Yes hello.
XXX: Hey Danny I´m calling about Conley and Gay.
Danny: Hey Mark how you doing.
Mark: How do you know it was me?
Danny: *uhoh* Caller-ID
Mark: Yes that makes sense.

Ainge will charge a premium to get Vanderbilt.  Rather spend the Ainge "doing business with me tax" working with Orlando to get Isaac.

Maybe start with the 2nd round. Last time that happened was in KGs MVP season.

What's the left number? He averaged over 30 ppg last season. Where does the 17.6ppg come from?

I believe it's the most anyone has ever averaged during their 20th season. He'll beat that number, for sure.

Could be. That was Kobe's last season ppg average, and he would be my first stop to check his number. Kareem only scored ~10ppg in his 20th season, but he wasn't carrying an offense either.

Wonder how many points LeBron will end up with.  While I'd bet the under, 42K doesn't seem crazy.  If he averaged 20ppg over the next three seasons while playing 55 games per season, that would get him to 40,362.

If he plays 76 games next season he needs to average 17.6 ppg to beat Kareem. All the averages are based on the number of games he plays.

Man, I remember around 2010 when plenty of folks thought Lebron will be done at 30 because he is just so reliant on athletic ability.  How wrong were they
