As many on this board have pointed out on numerous occasions, Golden State's ownership doesn't care a bit about money. All they care about is winning, unlike our cheap-ass Mark Cuban, whom we hate for his cheapness.
So $131 million is very cheap insurance to make sure they hold onto a player that might, someday, help them with a blocked shot in a playoff game that leads to a championship.
Sigh.
I see where you're coming from, but the owners for the Warriors are also successful businessmen. I think they were more than happy to eat a huge tax bill for guys like Poole, Wiggins, and Draymond. But Wiseman? Wiseman is closer to being in the G-League than we all think.
He's been that bad. 50+ mil savings this year, and 80 mil next year is a lot of money for a G-League center.
Heck if anything they can trade him for Dedmon right now if they really wanna keep a shot blocker and don't care about a tax hit that high.
