TDL Archived: The 2nd Rnd Pick Yankee Swap
I think it’s time we ask Dan the most important question (he may have me blocked). What is Dwight’s market value?

We have not.

Seems like I’ve been slacking. Thanks for bringing this to my attention.

Just tired of repeating it. And frankly hopeless that Kidd will make any good use of Wood.

Oh, idk. If he’s still here post TDL, I’d say there’s a high likelihood Wood finished the season as the starting center, Luka’s main screener…pretty much everything he should’ve been from jump street. I also think it’s going to work pretty damn well.

Sure, maybe on the offensive end it will be better than it was. But I think the defense should be adjusted to complement Luka and Wood. I just see no significant coaching adjustments to get the most out of the team's talent.

Any number of guys who are capable in isolation but also know how to play within a flow and not dribble the air out of the ball and take 8 seconds to ramp up to whatever move they eventually do.

So, attack immediately creating more scrambling which creates more space which becomes open shots? What a weird concept!

To be more precise, Green should start at the 2. Maintaining good posistional size is key with our defensive scheme. The secondary playmaker/2nd option role should ideally come from the wing (either 3 or 4 posistion in todays NBA). Bojan would be a archetype that would work.(Not him exactly) Siakam would too. (obviously) Either of these type of options would diversify our offense and help tremendously.. especially when Luka is off the floor. The sell high on Dinwiddie is about collecting the assets to acquire this player X.

You could make the argument that Dinwiddie is a keeper as an eventual 6th man, but his lack playmaking ability (especially in p&r situations) makes him less than ideal in this role. You need someone who can run an offense and not just dribble/isolate imo. His career high shooting percentages are not gurantees as we move forward. If i can get an asset or two for Din it’s a no brainer.

Was this posted yet? Do the Mavs really think they have a package for Zach Lavine?

Hollinger has this hot idea, that he says has been discussed a lot in theory:

LAL: FVV, GTJ
Tor: Westbrook, 2027, 2029

Both guys are Klutch clients and would strengthen the Lakers where needed most.

I was listening to The Mismatch with Kevin O'Conner and Chris Vernon and they brought up this trade. Both of them were like "it makes too much sense and is a great trade for both teams."

It's about as all in as you can get for the Lakers. I don't think FVV+GTJ alone catapults them into contention. Especially given the health of AD. But I wouldn't be surprised if that trade happens.

That is interesting.    I feel like Masai would look for an extra asset.   Seems like for both something is missing.

Whether you agree or disagree, interesting to read Bill Simmons trade value rankings.  Luka is # 2.  No other Mavs.

Brunson is #54 and KP is honorable mention.
