TDL Archived: The 2nd Rnd Pick Yankee Swap
How much would you guys pay in a trade for:

Gary Trent Jr.?
Pascal Siakam?
OG?

Collins?

And finally, if Ayton really doesn't have a market this year, and he really doesn't want to go back, what are the odds he just takes the QO?

A lot of other contracts become guaranteed today, if not released. I am surprised he wasn't released yet.

Man, I think OG first (because of age) and then Siakam are the premium player we want here. They are a step below PG3 and Kawhi (respectively), IMO. Their FO knows how valuable they are though and so if we want one, the cost is at least Murray level.

Raptors asked for #7, Hart or Little and a future 1st. Out of reach for the Mavs even if they offer all available future 1sts.

I'm going to give a longer answer than you are looking for, but here it goes.

I felt even before Brunson walking that this team needs a two way number 2 in order to be a legit contender.  I don't think we get there without sending out a significant amount of draft capital.  I have used the Bucks trade for Jure as my example, but the Murray trade we just saw in another good example.  Neither trade required any assets other than picks.  It makes most sense to make that move when we have access to all of our picks (right after the next draft) but before Luka starts getting antsy (in the next couple of years depending on performance).

In light of that, I don't want to send out any firsts unless its for that game changing player.  The only guy on that list that might fit that description is Siakam.  I don't think we have the assets right now to go after him, but next offseason he might be the target, especially if Toronto starts to go into rebuild.

You could be right, but that deal was not completed. They don’t HAVE to trade one of them, unless and/or until one of them shows just how serious they are about wanting out. I guess even then, they’ve shown the ability to stick to their guns. I think though, eventually they have to come down at least slightly.

“Headlined” by Joe Harris? He hardly played last season. They have no picks. Not sure why Pho would do this.

That would mean spending assets to bring in a worse player

Amico isn't a great source.

How would we get Sexton? SnT? Is that possible if Brunson leaves salary cap rule-wise?

If we got a TPE from NY for Brunson somehow?

Or Powell + Green probably gets you to a trade match. Im thinking Sexton comes in at somewhere around $15 mill AAV.

Shams Bomb....says Durant has requested a trade.  Wow.

But he also just reported Utah is trading Royce O'neal to Brooklyn for a first round pick

Wow...Sean Marks is working with KD to find a trade.  The trade is going to be massive.

Kyrie will certainly be moved after.

Yeah, there was a report earlier for Ayton and Bridges.   Anywhere he goes needs to be in the championship window.  That one makes sense.
