My thought is using that trade to get off of Bertans and THJ’s salaries while taking on the 1 year left of Westbrook. I don’t have much more framework than that, just a thought.

Would cost THJ+ Dinwiddie + X (Bertans, Powell, Bullock), but Cuban won´t do that cause the trade makes the team worse.

This is one situation where Luka could learn something from Lebron and KD. They take it too far, but Luka needs to be able to say something like "Mark, you pay Brunson what he wants or I'm out too. I'm not gonna play for a cheapskate owner."

It feels like they're trying to placate him with Dragic, and maybe that will work for now, but not when Luka gets older.

That's interesting, but I refuse to get my hopes up at this point.

Plenty of potential future Knicks though, including Luka!

Does this mean we’re at least getting Noel out of this?

That Hollinger idea seems incredibly convoluted and what would the Knicks be willing to give up for access to their MLE? I would like Grimes personally. Or our ‘23 pick. But why would Mark pay the tax for those 3 semi stiffs if he wouldn’t pay Jalen? Wonder what is headed Detroits way to take Burks and Noel. Must be something worth their while.

What he´ll learn is that Cuban will not trade him. He´ll pass on the five first round picks and run down his contract instead.  Undecided

The stiffs would all still go to Detroit.  Brunson to NY and Dallas gets a TPE for half of Brunson's salary.  NY gets something it wants and Dallas gets a TPE.

So both teams get a TPE only history says Dallas will never use theirs.

Yeah, at this point I wish I'd never even heard of TPE's.

You mean like the one the Mavs just let expire rather than taking on Kemba for a free 20 year old Jalen Duren who just happens to play Center -- the position they're desperate to fill??

Yep, I can't wait for that to sit on the books unused for an entire year.    Dodgy

That Duren deal and the Noel/Burks deal might just be one big deal.  Detroit cleared NY’s cap for that pick.

So Detroit does something opportunistic with their cap space to accumulate more assets to build around their young star….something Cuban has never done.

And NY clears out cap space and goes and actually lands their guy before FA even starts…something Cuban has never done.

But your Christmas present.

Anyone know if you can return custom jerseys to the Mavs shop?

Ok, despite my most sincere efforts, this has me laughing and feeling a little better.

Well done, friend.
