Your points are reasonable (although I think the ongoing idea here that he's some sort of a C is incredibly far off base). But, all in all, eye of the beholder stuff, as I still think OPJ would be a better fit to this roster and its needs.

There's also the very real issue of getting PJW. We do know OPJ will be a free agent.

OTOH, the fact that PJW is often discussed here and proposed as a target, doesn't mean Cha will want to trade him to the Mavs. Do the Mavs have a missing piece that Cha really feels they have to have? While I include PJW in some trade ideas, I am more inclined to wager PJW is available ONLY if Cha is chasing a player THEY want (such as Turner, perhaps?) but not at all as part of a salary-dump-centered move.

I agree that acquiring him is unlikely for the reasons you say.  I don't think of him as a center from the standpoint that I would not be interested in running him out there as the lone big, but the reality is he has more bulk than anybody currently on this roster and he would probably be our second best rim protector.  He is the only (somewhat) reasonable target that could actually contribute to both of those limitations to the starting lineup.

As for OPJ, I liked him a ton before the injuries.  He has never been the same player since, but the tax MLE seems like a reasonable contract for him.  My problem is that adding him creates a huge minutes crunch that would be hard to solve without sending Timmy out, but I don't trust Porter's health enough to send Timmy out because of him.
