TDL Archived: The 2nd Rnd Pick Yankee Swap
I would definitely be interested in Nurkic, depending on the price.

Interesting. Do you think Wood increased his value since the Mavs traded for him? Going back to the baseline of the trade in the summer I didn´t include a first because the Clippers would be taking back two years of McGee.

That would be fascinating if the Mavs “compensation” for moving Wood is that a team also takes over the contract for the ill advised McGee signing. Talk about a terrible off-season.

Maybe slightly but this is admittedly too much. The only wrinkle with LAC the intrigues me at all is the possibility of getting short term theoretical DFS replacement (Batum i assume is the most likely)… should DFS be involved in something else.

I dont think Luka is as good as Jokic or Giannis yet.  (not to mention prime Lebron)

What HoosierDaddyKid said.

Luka on even a slightly above average team is an NBA finals contender. Luka on either the Bucks or Nuggets teams is just as good imo.

Prime MJ made very little money compared to now!

Edit: $4M in his prime.

I dont think the Clippers are trading their main rotation players.  They're looking to add depth at C.  Zubac is their only center.  They have to play Moses Brown (yes that one) regular minutes.

Not sure what we'd want from LA.  What happened to Robert Covington?  Is he washed already at 32?  He's a salary match for Wood.  I dont think the Mavs do that straight up.  I dont think LAC adds a 1st to Covington.

Gota think the Nets can find a better package with Russ and 2 LA firsts.

Both Dinwiddie and Westbrook were supposed to be out tonight but got upgraded to available.

Kyrie being traded somewhere else?

Do we have interest in Naz Reid as the starting center?

Nurkic for Hardaway makes some sense

I cannot believe I’m sending Westbrook to the Mavs in that trade machine. It may be the best move out there

Just crazy. Literally every WB trade has been a franchise ruiner for every receiving team. This one could be the opposite

Thoughts on Obi?  He's a more mobile Larry Nance Jr to me.

NYK will want to unload Fournier.

Bullock/Powell/Frank/McGee/FRP
for
Obi/Quickley/Reddish/Fournier

Point - Luka, Quickley
Guard - Dinwiddie, Fournier
Guard - Green, THJ, Hardy
Forward - DFS, Obi, Reddish
Center - Wood, Maxi

We get much younger with 3 promising pieces" Obi (24), Quickley (23), and Reddish (23).  With Luka (23), Green (22), and Hardy (20), that's a core of 6 players 24 or younger.  Add in Wood (27), Din (29), and DFS (29), we have an amazing core under 30.  Maxi (31) and THJ (30), our entire rotation is built for years and years to come.

I like this because it's bolsters the our current best core of Luka, Din, Green, DFS, and Wood without giving any of them.

The trade deadline is fun for fans, but man it can be brutal for athletes. Say what you want about THJ on the court, but he seems like a truly good person and I admire his professionalism.
