The 3rd quarter was coaching malpractice by Kidd and not calling a timeout at multiple points. I posted earlier questioning when he should have done it. On another rewatch, it’s clear that a timeout at 8:53 on Looney’s offensive rebound and layup where nobody put a body on him was a good spot for a TO. It was still 76-64 at that point. Then at 6:17, Klay and Poole drive hard on the Mavs defense overplaying the 3 point line for points in the paint - 79-68. Call a timeout coach. Finally, at 5:41 Dorian has just missed 2 FTs (bad game from him) and Klay drives for a dunk! Call a fucking timeout coach Kidd - lead is down to single digits. The game is absolutely lost here.
The Warriors had Curry on Dorian to start the quarter and couldn’t seem to attack it effectively. They tried repeatedly with PnR. Then, for some unknown reason, they went to the Looney switches. Finally, when Poole came in for the last 6 minutes, Golden State went to a zone.
