Looking at Chicago, they could be a TDL partner with that horrible Porter contract, as we can afford to take it. I don't really see them giving up on their summer acquisitions.
Dal: Porter, Dunn, Valentine
Chi: Lee, Wright, Jackson
Utilize TE to make salaries work.
Chicago gets off the Porter contract and gets some flexibility in the summer. Wright is a better offensive player than Dunn. Jackson is a cheap wing option under contract for one more season.
Dallas gets good 3-D wing in Porter if he can remain healthy. Dunn is a third string PG and defensive specialist - he is better defensively than Wright but worse offensively. Could be an asset against Lillards and Hardens of the world. Valentine is an instant off the bench scorer, was very decent last season but took step back in this one. Perhaps a change of scenery would help. Can shoot the three very well and drive to the basket. All three are still young enough and have room to grow. Dunn and Valentine are expiring and might be they don't have a future in Chicago. All in all, Dallas is not giving away a lot but potentially gets important pieces. Bench will be even stronger and minutes even more difficult to give - a problem to be solved in summer.
