Cole Anthony is the guy. Not necessarily for this team, but he looks like a star. I don’t follow college basketball, but from what I’ve seen based on scouting videos, he’s the best available in our range. I think the thing that really stands out is his ‘smoothness’, the same thing that I thought Donovan Mitchell had coming out of college.

Maintains touch and scores through contact, very impressive indeed. Can make a great shot despite being well defended. That's what you look for in a star player. Can make something not only when he is open, but also when well defended. I think thats the most important skill to look for when scouting.

Rebounds well, is not a bad passer at all. He would be great next to Luka. Can shoot the 3 really well from what I see, what are his stats there? Seems also very athletic, and thats promising for the defense.

How about Kira Lewis? Sam Vecenie, The Athletic draft guru, can't stop raving about him. He even mentions the fit next to Doncic.

Yeah was my pick at #18, too. Not much vertically imho, but very crafty and fast. I think how the vertical effects his game in the NBA will determine, whether he´ll be special or shitty. But he seems to have a good floater, which somewhat negates the potential rim finishing problem.

Im just watching his highlights etc. Seems very shy of contact, thats a bad sign perhaps. Always choses the floater instead of going for the rim. Very athletic, great floater. When he is open he is impressive, its just that in NBA only few plays he will be that wide open in the paint. Has a good 3 pt shot it seems. Can go either way, star or a bench role.

Cole seems much safer pick IMO, he finishes through contact almost as well as when he is wide open. He will be a solid stater as a minimum, potentially a star, IMO.

Anthony shot 38% from the field, 34% from 3 and 75% from FT. 50% TS. People basically saw his highlights and projected him as a top 5 pick at the start of the season. Those garbage shooting numbers are the reason he's fallen far enough down draft boards to be in the Mavs range. He also has a volume scorers mentality (chucker) and very old for a kid who only just played his freshman year. If he isn't a star, his mentality will be a problem, unless he's a bench scorer. He's also really not much of a passer, very much the volume scorer type. Much higher risk IMO.

Lewis on the otherhand is over a year younger, and has almost Fox, young Devin Harris level speed, definitely the fastest player in the draft. That is an instant advantage he will have that will even carry over into the NBA, even if it's more straight line explosiveness and not really vertical. Not as consistent an iso scorer, but that doesn't really bother me, especially at his age. He has excellent body control and touch, is a much better and more selective shooter than Anthony and given the kid is 19, adding bulk is definitely something he can do which will make him less contact avoidant. But his footwork, speed and body control give him the abilty to blow past and slither around defenders pretty well as is. I can see him being something of a slightly less explosive, and less vertical version of Dearron Fox down the line. He's a much better shooter than Fox coming out of college also. He has more potential than Anthony to be a non star starter I think, given his mentality and compliment to Luka. Especially as an off ball player with his spot up shooting.
