Besides, with each passing year Mavs will be more desperate and every seller will know that - prices will go up.
Of course there are (very few) exceptions to be made but the chances of that are sooooooooo slim they aren't even worth acknowledging in my opinion. Because our assets are so slim someone would have to basically say I'm not playing anywhere but Dallas on top of being worth completely mortgaging our future for him and committing to playing with that player and Luka and nothing but vet mins and draft picks the rest of the way. There are maybe 5-10 guys in the league you make that exception for but I feel we suggest using these picks on guys like Jerami Grant and Rudy Gobert which is absolutely not worth it in my opinion. There will always be disgruntled stars to go after, the cycle always repeats itself, I have no problem trusting that.
