Where's the Bertans workout vid?

He was dunking on junior high students so he's putting in the work.

He's an easy dude to root for, much more so than I initially thought when the trade happened.  Just goes to show that a player's rep vs reality can be very different.

Its funny, his first 2 games he had 4 and 8 pts respectively. After that conversation he said in the story he went on to average 20ppg on 50/42/78 over the next 13 games.

Sometimes just having a good vibe and people giving you confidence turns a terrible player on one team into a 20ppg scorer on another.

Glad to hear Dinwiddie loves it here.

All credit to God King for turning around Spencer's Dallas Maverick career.  One pep talk from Doe and your average goes up by 14 points.

I believe, outside the obvious, that Dinwiddie is the biggest factor for this season.   I wasn't a fan last offseason when there was talk the Mavs had interest.  I also wasn't a fan of the trade at the deadline.   I thought Dinwiddie was really good once he got here though.   He was a little up and down in the playoffs.   But it is really hard to join a team midyear and fit in seamlessly.

Now he needs to replace a team leader and a very reliable & efficient player in Jalen.   I personally like Jalen's game better than Dinwiddie's, but I will keep an open mind as I see more of Dinwiddie's game and see if it can expand with his new role.

I thought he was able to fit in well with Luka.   This can be a little challenging for players who like to have the ball.  You can go 3-4 minutes with hardly touching the ball.   Luka can make your life easier, but there are some challenges.   In addition, the Mavs were good when Luka rested last year.  Can they recapture that minus Jalen this year?

I think we’ll see the higher assist SD this year after getting to know his teammates and the offensive scheme more. At least that is what I hope we see, more smart, unselfish ball handling. If he can do that, I think he is an upgrade to last year’s JB.

Luka is the better pointguard, but I bet Spencer would have pushed the ball if he was given the chore of initiating the offense in the last possession. Luka just casually walked it up being down just 2 and not even thinking of an offensive rebound or a good play in 9 seconds.

JB would have attacked the rim as quickly as he could.
I believe SD would have the same sense of urgency too.

But the superstar pointguard had other heroic ideas.

And now the comparisation of SD last season with whoever replaced him this year...that´s what is missing right now.

I mean, the "who" is THJ, even if it's a completely different skillset. I don't think he's enough to replace Brunson, but then again, he's just now starting to play well. In two weeks this all might look a lot better.

Silly comparison considering Brunson got better and better last season and Dinwiddie is most likely going to regress.
