Good signing. Might be exactly what they need.

Portland is faltering out of the gate and they expect Melo to replace Tolliver's minutes. Does he still have what it takes? Does his lack of defense make him unplayable??

His contract is unguaranteed until January 7th.

Never had a ton of affection for Melo as he was obviously very talented offensively but wasn’t a guy who really elevated the guys around him, but I still hope to see him go out of the league in a better manner than he did. Maybe this is his chance.

Quick bump after Melo's first performance as a Blazer.

10 points, 4 rebounds, 0 assists, 5 turnovers, 1 block and 5 fouls in 23 minutes. He shot 4/14 from the field and 2/3 from 3.

It was really obvious that Melo can only play one side of the floor. His defense was atrocious. The Blazers said he'd be capped at around 20 minutes, but it was a bit surprising that they didn't opt to play him even a little during garbage time in a blowout.

On offense, Melo ran multiple isos, harkening back to what outed him from the league in the first place.  It's unclear if thats because Melo had little time to learn the Blazers offense, or if it's just Melo being Melo, but not quite an auspicious start for Melo's return.

Still too early to make any hard and fast judgments, and I for one am very interested to see what happens in the Melo era for the Blazers

and was a -20.  I get that he's rusty... but that's also the same reason he shouldn't have taken 14 shots.  Classic Melo, LOL.
