I don't think this will be proven to be true. There is too much of a history of him being an incredibly valuable player. I think as this plays out we will see his value.

I hope you're right.  As a shooter he has value.  As far as everything else goes on a basketball court...he is garbage.  And his contract is disgusting.

If the Mavs had control of their draft picks and had a player like Bane, Maxey or Bey on their roster, then Bertans contract has value.  Bad contracts don't work for matching purposes when you don't have anything to stack on top of them.
