He is basically a very tall stretch 4.
Would fit nicely with the Mavs.
Would take 2 years to be in the rotation though, but would be nice to have this kid when Maxi begins to slow down.
I don't think he is going to be undrafted though.
The kid just needs to add muscle, his floor is a 3 and D big, but can be so much more. I actually see a taller less coordinated Christian Wood in him.
He may need more than two years. He looked so far off playing in college this year. But I agree, it wouldn't surprise me to see a team draft him for a two-way spot. Him Nzosa, Diabate, Peyton Watson, JD Davision, Lofton Jr and Caleb Houson are some the guys I am surprised that stayed in the draft. I am trying to find out which ones had some kind of true expectation that they will be drafted and which ones got bad advice or out of touch expectations. In theory, each could really raise their draft profile with another year and more growth.
Looking at the Mavs, we have a small sample size. Last year, they signed Eugene O and JaQuori as their initial two way guys. Both guys were older seniors (23-24). When Eugene got hurt they eventually signed Pinson and then eventually signed another older college player in Moses Wright (23 years old). So it will be interesting to see if either/both are back next year. If not, do the Mavs again look for older, more developed players. They had worked out both Eugene and Moses Wright prior to the draft. As well as Moses' college teammate in Alvarado.
