BRUNSON BURNER: to NYK for 4yrs/$104M (no SnT) | NYK docked 2025 2nd for tampering
https://www.callin.com/episode/mavericks...vakKCBuKBJ

  • Mavs are incredibly confident in JB coming back.
  • JB wants to be in DAL and wants to play with Luka.
  • JB doesn't mind being in Luka's shadow.
  • If the money is equal, he would be shocked if JB doesn't stay in DAL.
  • Also interesting discussion about what caliber player you would trade JB for.

Luka also said, "He [Brunson] was ready in year 1." I thought so too Luka, I thought so too  Big Grin

Thank goodness for Coach Kidd.

I think Phoenix will be a much harder test for Brunson. Hopefully he rises to the challenge

JB played better last year than I remembered. About the same efficiency as this series, just didn’t get minutes and associated shots. Coaching may have held him back a little.

I think that's what stats don't show.
He wasn't able to keep the team aflood with Luka on the bench last year. Now he can at least in combination with Spencer.

I am seeing a recurring theme. CP3, aka Point-God, is also saying Brunson's emergence is not surprising, just needed an OPPORTUNITY. Not held back, eh?

I think deep down him and his dad prefer playing on the east coast, closer to home. If the Mavs are the highest bidder with a monster contract then of course he will take it but if it's comparable/market value with teams like the Knicks/Wizards in the mix then I think he leaves.

I really hope that happens. Try to fill his void with a full offseason/camp of Dinwiddie and then finally bring in Dragic for 2022/23. Then you can address other needs that might still allow for some long-term flexibility instead of committing to Brunson

He knows his opportunities are going to be limited by Luka.  Maybe you could work out a double S&T with NY for Robinson.

This is why I've said for the last year that as much as I like Brunson they need to use him to acquire another piece. This team needs a legit 5 and a wing. Brunson is a very good starting PG. But, having Luka takes away what Brunson is good at. This team needs to be built 100% around Luka alone.
We didn't make the cut but thanks for all the support!

I think the opportunity to trade Brunson is gone. The only reasonable option Mavs have is to resign him. And of course they will have to overpay. He will be less overpayed than several other teammates, though...

I really disagree with this, no reason to panic. We have seen all year long Luka and Brunson can play amazingly together. The adjustments need to be made in the pick and roll game and how Suns are defending Luka and Powell. This is the main reason we haven't seen the best of Brunson this series. Lets see when the adjustments are made. Brunson will get the ball much more in his hands, and will able to enter the paint. At the moment, he is receiving the ball fully covered and cant do much understandably.

Y’all keep moving the goal post when it comes to JB. No single game will make a difference at this point. He is a baller. Period.

People panic so quickly, incredible. JB proving all season long that he plays amazingly well with Luka and also through playoffs now in two series, that he is playoff player as well. We wouldnt be here where we are without JB. His fit with Luka is so great, that we need to keep him at all costs. In game 1 and 2 as i mentioned before, there was issues with the pick and roll, and Brunson got the ball without any space to operate. This has changed, and he got the ball in better more realistic situations, and if he is given a little space, then we see what Brunson can do with that space. No panic, and enjoy the Mavs getting back in this series. It will be tight. I predict a Mavs win. Just Luka alone with explode at least once or twice this series which the Suns wont be able to recover from. As long as the situations in the pick and roll are under control, Suns wont have a chance to win against us. Game 3 we were alot more patient and pick and roll was running with much less turnover rate and Dallas was exploiting more the space that Suns gave up. Luka always adjust, and I think we will see even more of that in game 4. Luka is a QB that at this very moment has seen all the looks Suns has provided and knows where to counter from here on. Suns are in deep trouble!

Utah:

Mavs have no chance with Brunson and no Luka.

Brunson is worth $25 million.

Brunson is the second star.

Max Brunson.

Phoenix:

Brunson is only worth like $18.

Trade Brunson.

Actually, give him $25 million.
