Should Curry start?

What a disaster...

Yeah, probably the biggest disappointment so far. I just wonder whether him missing parts of training camp / pre-season affected him more than they've let on.

Clearly no. He’s just a specialist. Would prefer Delon, Jackson, or even THJ.

I love Seth but damn.. he is disappointing me right now. He was given a lot of opportunity and he's not taking advantage of it.

I see others are starting to take notice that Seth "Starter" Curry isn't really a starter at all. Shaky defense, can't get past big's on switches, and now his 3PT's dipped. He's quietly resembling THJ's shooting numbers however managed to nearly go scot-free from his compadre's vitriol.

This is a guy who no body wanted in free agency yet the MBT handed him a 4-year deal. It isn't all his fault though, he's been put in a position to fail.

"Top 2 head coach" Carlisle needs to make a call to his buddy Terry Stotts and ask him how to use Seth properly.

LOL, man, Seth must have done something to you or your family at some point. He's not playing well right now, but you go after the guy even when he does play well.

It's rough right now. Curry scoring 2 points a game in the starting lineup isn't going to cut it. I like Seth but he is showing us at least for the time being is not a starter. I was pro-Seth starting but we need to try something else. That something else is Brunson. I know we like Brunson and Wright together but we need to fix the starting lineup first before we worry ab the 2nd unit. You could move both Brunson and Wright into the starting lineup which I am not opposed to but I think for now what you do is move Brunson there first. I also like Maxi over Powell. Maxi is having his best year so far.

So lineup would be:
Brunson
Luka
DFS
Maxi
KP

The beauty of Brunson is that he gives you both playmaking and shooting. Curry is dribbling around and not making plays. Brunson's defense is also improving. And he just hustles. I think Brunson is a guy that just makes sense. He has fit Luka's game so well from day 1.

In the 2nd unit you have Wright, Curry, THJ, Powell as regular contributors (I know we'd like THJ benched but I don't think that will happen for the time being). I think Jackson needs more minutes as well. I wouldn't mind seeing JJB get steady playing time, I realize we have a log jam of guys so that's going to be hard to do. I think JJB with Wright would do effectively what Brunson and Wright are able to do.

You must be really unhappy with Seth tonight lol...

He's not helping your case here...

Seems when Seth gets enough minutes and enough opportunity to get shots up he's pretty good. Who would of thought...

15 points on over 71% from the floor

60% from 3 pointer tonight

100% from the free throw line

6 Rebounds

5 Assists!

and he chipped in 1 steal and 1 Block!

Not too shabby tonight Seth... Not too shabby at all sir. Solid game my friend...

Hopefully tonight's game is a sign of things to come.  Really need him to hit some shots consistently.

I think the deciding factor was that Luka played off ball for some possessions which helped him getting his all around game going.

He did it for wright as well.

That's a thing I wanted to see, called for it in multiple threads. Preserves some energy for Luka as well.

Yeah I loved watching Delon tonight. Dude is a beast. 3 of his steals were damn near momentum deflating for Toronto. If he can get opportunities to contribute the same as Curry, those guys are super solid and are very important pieces for us going forward. Now if they get low minutes and don't have the ball very often then the box score is always going to show something worse than what we are seeing with ours eyes out there.

A quite significant RC quote in the post game presser:

When asked about THJ and Seth and the starting lineup, Rick said, "If Seth is available Friday, he's starting Friday. You don't lose your starting job (over a minor one game injury)"

I think we now have a set starting lineup, with DP and Maxi sharing their starting job based on match-ups.

EDIT: LOL, I guess I should at least look at the previous post in a thread before posting.

I'm still thinking THjr should start, maybe even in place of Finney Smith, if Curry has to start.

Obviously we can't, glue is way too sticky. The glue guy in in name is Kleber though.

Might be time to rewrite the thread title: Should Curry be traded?

Looks like to me you can give all his minutes to Jackson and not miss a single beat. We'd also be giving the much younger player more meaningful development on the court.

Package him with Powell + filler for Zeller + filler?

LOL, did you create this account for the sole purpose of talking about Seth Curry?

Why so quick to trade now, that's hyperbole. Curry played great as a starter too. Better than as a bench player, what's important though is that Curry is still better as a bench player than Hardaway. So the team wins when Tim is starting. It's not because Curry is bad starting.

I admit Mavs have a logjam of small guards in Brunson, Curry, JJ.

JJ though doesn't mind not playing, he is fine being a players coach, situational player and rehabbing.

Curry and Brunson both are very nasty personalities. If their situation gets toxic, we can still trade them.

But what is important here is that we are fully healthy which is a luxury. Season is long. Everyone is needed.

For some reason 80% of Fuerza's posts are about hating Seth. There has to be a story behind this!
