Exactly. At this point in his career, he can't wait for "maybes". He doesn't have a lot of options here. I wondered if the Mavs were trying to make some moves, legitimately would have given him a training camp invite, but only after they made some moves, then he signed with the Blazers because he had a legit opportunity in hand.
Then again, Frankie Smokes or DSJ's invites to Dal and Portland could have just been favors to agents...who knows?
