Sure on paper Jerami Grant would be a fantastic fit. That is if he buys into the role the Mavs need him for. If he goes Harrison Barnes 2.0 by ices Luka out and tries to be a feature on offense, then I'm not too sure about his addition actually helping the Mavs.
Maybe there is some room on offense if Dodo is moved to the bench. I remember the Mavs having a very good winning% when DFS scores 10+ pts in a game. But I don't know if there are another 10-15 shots available with Luka/Brunson/KP in the game. Grant wouldn't be featured ever on this team.
I'm not even sure he is that great a fit. He is not a great floor stretcher. His offense is predicated more on volume than efficiency. He is a versatile defender but not elite. Honestly if you are going to put him in a starting lineup with Luka, KP and Brunson I would probably prefer DFS. I think he is a little better defender, and in that role offensive efficiency is more important than volume. The mindset between the two makes it an easy call.
