I'll say this:


IF the Sterling Brown we saw this past season is the REAL Sterling Brown, THEN the Mavs got one hell of a deal here. Shooter and defender.

Wonder if Kidd played a role. He was a rookie in Kidd´s last season in Milwaukee. Maybe he is the new Powell (coaches favorit).

I know nothing of him except that our new coach seems to know a lot about him. Isn’t that pretty telling? If Kidd doesn’t know what he’s doing, we’re screwed anyway. 

Hard for me to be disappointed in a 6-5, 220 lb sharp shooter who has a 6-10 wingspan and is coveted by his former coach. It’s not like the BAE is likely to fetch you something better.

I like this as a low cost shot at someone who could outperform their contract if things go well.

That's my main takeaway from this one. This looks like Kidd trying to bring in his guys which is a sign that he does have some say in the decision making process which isn't necessarily a bad thing.

Doesn't hurt to add another shooter though, hope his last season wasn't just a statistical outlier

If Kidd's "guys" are 2-way players that can hit a 3 I'm all for it. I have no issues with coaches picking some guys on the roster. It's only a problem when a coach falls in love with a flawed player.
