Brown's contract is also very team-friendly. So no complaints at all.

1)  That's a small difference.
2)  Athletic rebounding bigs are valuable .
3)  This could be partially that they expect to be moving some of our big men, also.

What is the exact size of our TPE now that Brown is involved?

1. $1.7mm

2. I think he's the third center for now behind either Powell or WCS

3.  I just outlined some thoughts on this in another thread.  I think it is probably Powell supplemented by Brunson to TOR.  WCS/Moses backs up KP.  If we have Luka/Lowry backed up by Sterling Brown, Green and Terry, we can probably get by without Brunson

I'll add that fringe additions like Moses and Sterling are nice little moves.

IF it is to be used, I believe this doesn't change things.  You can't blend a player and TPE to make a trade work.  Fortunately, Moses fits into a TPE the Mav's had from the Iwundo deal (do people not read my posts?).

Great move. Not sure what it means for WCS. Personally I would let him go. Brown has more upside and is on a great contract.

Could be legit, or could be an insider covering for a wrong call.

Nice.  Hopefully Moses gets the ~15 minutes per game WCS was getting.

In the grand scheme of things, this is a small move but getting rid of Richardson's salary while adding a young player is really nice.

Nico: We can´t take any salary back.
Stevens: You have to take Parker.
Nico: No way. We have big plans with our capspace. We can absolutely not take any money.
Stevens: You have to take at least Moses Brown or the deal is off.
Nico: [Image: giphy.gif]...... You are a very tough negotiator, Brad. Well played.

Donnie should be taking notes...
Josh Green is a top 5 Mavs player...

Finally someone that knows how to negotiate and extract assets a minimal cost. Donnie would have thrown a couple second rounders and would have valued that freaking 700k in salary cap space over getting a promising big man prospect.

Difficult to evaluate Brown´s performance on a team that was trying to lose but in terms of raw boxscore production his last season was better than everything we have seen from WCS or Powell. In 66 games as a Mav WCS had two double doubles. Brown had 12 in 44 games. Only playing 21 minutes. He missed the min amount of games to qualify for the official league leaders board but would rank 2nd in ORB%.
Super raw but he has already shown that his physical gifts translate to some aspects of the game.

I like it.  2 years at a great contract and not guaranteed so easy to move on if you have to.  I also like WCS coming back.  I am not a fan but that contract is good and moveable if needed.   Finding a home for Powell without giving up assets will be tricky though.  I would imagine if WCS comes back Powell and Boban will find another home.   If Maxi is here, he can also fill in at some center.

Looking at the highlights of Brown he is intriguing.    He definitely needs firm up a lot of his game but at that contract it is nice.

The way he simply grabs a rebound over Kanter´s back like he´s not there.

Such a difference to Dwight Powell trying that same move...

If Tyson can teach a lanky athletic 7´2 kid with all the physical gifts to play positional defense.

+41

Nico ain't bleepin' around. Lets not forget Kidd is part of the collaborative process as well just like Carlisle before him. Kidd is all about the young blood (shoutout to Josh Green). The new era is off to a hot start.

Spotrac now has it on their site.  TPE remains $10.8 (not $9.2).  Boston gets a $1.7 TPE.  Thread title should be updated.

Reddish 4.4
Aminu 10.2
Satoransky 10.0
Nance 10.7
Osman 8.1
Lamb 10.5
Culver 6.4
Knox 5.9
Favors 9.8
Bamba 7.6
DJJ 9.8
Hood 10.9

And that difference matters greatly. Otherwise it would have wiped out 50% of the list, including the most likely targets. It´s like we finally have people in charge that have read the whole new CBA and actually understood it. Big Grin
