It means they tried to get ahead of the Holmes free agency annoyance by simply acquiring Valanciunas.
I´d say the position of Holmes has improved dramatically and the chances Holmes stays in Sacramento have increased.
The Kings need to clean roughly $10M in capspace to make that happen.
I´d call them and offer Powell, Richardson, Kleber (in that order) for Bagley/Wright. By the time we land on Kleber, they might agree.

We also have to take on the salary of Delon Wright, so the Kings generate the additional capspace to re-sign Holmes. But who cares Wright expires next summer.
