Giannis brings the ball up the court and takes a contested pull up 3. Last time I checked he couldn´t shoot. What is going on?

No, my opinion is based on the article that came out at the end of last season about the extent to which KD and friends run the organization and how chaotic it sounded. Combine that with what KD projects via social media and I just have doubts that the Nets player free for all, org catering to every whim, zero discipline situation can actually win it all.

His shot looked so much better against Dallas in the pre-season. It seems like he's fixed his shot.
Giannis with a 3 is probably the most unstoppable player in the league...

So Mav-friendly agent Jeff Schwartz is unusually hot about how the Kings are sidelining Bagley. I could definitely see this escalating to a trade sooner than later. Because honestly he has a point.
"Sacramento has informed Marvin Bagley he is not in the opening night rotation, which is completely baffling," Jeff Schwartz said in a statement. "It's clear they have no plans for him in the future, and yet, passed on potential deals at last year's deadline and this summer based on 'value.' Instead, they chose to bring him back but not play him, a move completely contradictory to their 'value' argument."

To me, players have to play the game. The game within the game. Some of it is conformity when necessary. They have to accept coaching. Accept standards and expectations. Some players can get away with not doing that, but they're showing something else. Potential doesn't mean actual. Potential is future. Most teams are in win-now modes. Trying to establish a culture. Even Sacramento. Having Daddy, in the form of his agent, speak in his behalf is not saying anything. His play, and his attitude will speak. Show me what you can do. On the court with your effort. Right now, Bagley is just another talented athlete in America. Question is, is he a basketball player that can fit in with a team? At the pro level.

I don't like the GSW but I will pull for them tonight. So many of my least favorite NBA players are in purple and gold.

Bagley will become an RFA next summer with no other teams knowing what he can do. Sacto can drive his value to near nil and then match whatever pittance is offered him. It’s a shit move, and the agent is the right person to call them out for it.
Maybe I’m overreacting. But that’s how I see it.

His QO is like 14 Mio, he will gladly take that and still ask for a trade.
Nothing to win there for the Kings.

Well that’s interesting. He may be worth less than the QO, which would mean the Kings don’t offer it. I didn’t think of that. But regardless, a one-year deal at the QO is less than he would likely get on a multi-year deal if given the chance to develop. 3/30 is more than double 1/14, right?

Can't see a team doing this, but who knows.
And will the Kings match then?

Let's set aside matching salaries and any talent Sacramento might want in return. Whose place in the rotation would you take if you brought in Bagley.
In the dress rehearsal we saw these combos:
Powell/KP
WCS/Maxi
KP/Maxi
Powell/Maxi
WCS/KP
I don't see Bagley starting here. We already have too many guys needing shots between Luka/KP and THJ. I get that this is a swing for the fences/high upside move. But, I'm not sure I want to mess with our immaculate vibes AND take the risk he's not as good as what we have. I think we know what we have when any combination of Powell, Maxi and KP are on the floor. I don't see any statistical evidence that Bagley has a more positive influence on team outcomes than either Powell or Maxi.
I see Bagley as the scoring big on a bench unit. I might play him in place of WCS (Sacramento may be the worst possible trading partner for Willie), recognizing you are probably giving up some D for his O (which isn't yet very efficient). But, if you want to take this shot, you have to give him an opportunity to develop and the role that Gallinari plays in Atlanta or Topin in NY or Nance Jr. will play in Portland seems like the place to start if you want to try this.

One of the things we lack is a guy that can put pressure on opposing bigs and draw fouls in the paint.
Bagley could be very useful here as we do not have a big that can be as active inside as him.
I would be all over a move for Bagley.

Doesn't DAL already have a development project big in M. Brown? Wouldn't Bagley be redundant?

True. But I also think it helps to think of the larger roster:
PF: KP/Maxi
Center: Powell/WCS/Brown/Boban
In that context, I could see the argument for swapping a center for a forward. Maybe that's Bagley and maybe not, but I'm always paying attention when there's a chance to be opportunistic.

The problem is the price, whatever it might be.
Bagley is a 3rd-stringer on a bad team, and if you get really lucky, he might be able to be a backup with flaws. He plays no defense. He has always been a minus for SAC, who have given him every opportunity and tried to get something of value from him, with no success. I'm not sure there's much reward available in the risk-reward.
It should cost you nothing for the "privilege" of being the next team to pursue that project, and hoping for the best. But if the cost is higher, it's way too much.

We just paid a whole lot of money to a guy that went 9-29 (31%) on FG and 3-20 (15%) 3-pt% in both our win or go home elimination games last couple of playoffs. SMH

That one game is more of an indictment of Bagley than a reason to trade for him. It shows that, when he wants to, he can do things, but the want to isn't there very often. That's my opinion.

This is the ever-important backdrop behind last Thursday's news that Williamson won't appear in New Orleans' season opener Wednesday against Philadelphia, as part of a two-week-plus setback in his return from offseason foot surgery. There's a strong belief in league circles that the Pelicans were unaware of that procedure until Williamson reported to New Orleans ahead of media day, although one team source contacted by B/R maintained the Pelicans and Williamson were aligned on the injury's timeline.
