This in no way makes it "air". Seriously? If we SnT for Dragic on a 3 for $90M contract, does that make it "air" for KP? MAYBE if you're trading for a 1 year contract at the TDL, you can call it "air". You're not getting "air" if it's a multi year deal, because if the player returning doesn't work out, you don't have "air" to figure out how to correct the mistake, which is what you think we need to do with KP now. Glad the FO doesn't think that way.

I get the concept, I really do, but if we're going to sign Lowry for an absurd contract, I'd rather keep KP on his currently absurd contract, cause I know there is a much better chance that he lives up to the contract as opposed to Lowry.

Yes, that would still be "air" (meaning just cap space, no incoming or outgoing assets).  It would just be a terrible contract for Dragic.  The decision to send KP is separate.  You can make an argument (which I would agree with) that Lowry contract would be terrible regardless of sending KP or not.

As for sending KP in a S&T of any kind, for me it would depend on what we did with that cap space.  If we could use it to land Holmes and a significant portion of Norman Powell, then I am more than happy to do it.  If we can't get any quality assets and punt to cap space in future years, than I think its a terrible idea.  

Fortunately, it looks like if nothing else this new regime has learned how to tamper.  Whatever we do, I now have hope that we will have our ducks lined in a row by the time free agency starts.
