With Lowry and KP the Mavs would have two guys on the floor that are easy targets. One if gets switched onto a bigger wing or big. The other if he has to move his feet on the perimeter or in the pick and roll. That´s already to much. Prior to this years playoffs I thought that teams could get away with one liability as long as it isn´t the center. Now I am not sure if that´s still the case. Might need five guys that can at least do an okay job in most matchups.
Then again. Who knows what Kidd is planning. Maybe we will see a completly new defensive scheme or play full time zone. Maybe KP moves better than ever after a healthy offseason. Maybe KP isn´t even on the roster.
Actually no, he has a reputation for being a pretty solid defender from 1-3. He's short but he's very strong and has great length. He can definitely hold his own on switches. He's a perfect fit with Luka, the only downside is his age.
