It´s pretty simple. At least for me. The Mavs have five guys (Burke, Brown, Boban, Pinson, Chriss) that had no on court value for them last season. When it mattered they couldn´t make the rotation over Frank and Green.
The Mavs also lack roster spots. For a rookie, the tax-payer MLE or any other potential scenario that I cannot imagine right now. Who knows maybe they make a bigger trade and give up players that I haven´t even mentioned.

We all have our preferences but the important part is that at least three of them shouldn´t be on the roster next season. If you prefer to get rid of the mascots Boban and Pinson (two-way but included because of the rumors that the Mavs want him back) that´s fine. If you prefer to get rid of Kidd´s favorite Brown that´s fine. If you prefer to get rid of the most recent addition Chriss that´s fine. If you want to get rid of Burke you know more about basketball than @"KillerLeft".
