I think the article underrates the impact of good screeners. Looking at screen assists we have Gobert, Poeltl, Sabonis, Adams and Ayton leading the league.
Mavs could use another big but getting rid of KP was addition by subtraction when it comes to the pick and roll.

KP 50.5 percentile

With the added bonus that no one is clogging the paint or demanding post ups. Leading to an increased efficiency for pick and roll ballhandlers in the first few games since the trade.

Even as a big KP fan, I loathed how he set screens. I just never understood why he deliberately chose to slip the screen every time or worse, ignore the screen all together. 

Injury avoidance? Shot hunting? A mix of both? Probably. In any case it was one of his worst skillsets, and what truly limited him the most playing with Luka imo.
