Mavs can't realistically do a SnT. Even if they could, Phoenix would be looking for a good center on a cheap(er) deal. They have some 20 mil to play with, if they dump Saric. I think Atlanta or Portland are most serious candidates.

The key I think you're glossing over is that Ayton decides where he wants to play. Sure he's a RFA, but if Ayton says "I want to go to Dallas, either trade me there or I take the QO", there's not much the Suns can do.

Mavs have cheap bigs that can fill out a trade. Maxi being the most attractive one. I 100% agree that the Mavs role players aren't nearly as attractive as what the majority of other teams can offer, but it doesn't really matter if Ayton wants to go to the Mavs.
