To be fair, I certainly put out my share of "flight risk" posts regarding Brunson. He's absolutely a risk...no doubt. Impossible for us to know how much of one or whether he'd have any interest in quarterbacking a lottery team.
Regarding your pick question, we have 16 players next season if we make our pick assuming we don't cut Frank or Maxi. If there isn't some great THJ plus 22 deal out there, I'd gladly trade 22 for 23 without requiring a pick in the current draft. I like the idea of taking the worst of someone like OKC's picks. We just have to know some pick will convey to then be able to trade the newly received 23 plus conditional 2025 and 27 (Cow is right about not being able to trade our own 25 until the NY pick conveys). If we had another 2023, one of the ways we could get NY to lift the restriction would be to make the 2023 we send the best of our two picks.
BTW, Brunson at $20mm and DFS (plus all these picks and necessary pick swaps) are a trade match for Lillard. You can add Green and pay Brunson less than $20mm if that is too big for a starting number.
