I‘d happily move on from THJr but I gotta agree with the concerns re the timing.
A) I don’t think he ever played any worse than he did before the injury
B) He signed for less money than what NO (iirc) offered just a few months ago (terrible look)
C) Assuming he returns to the level of play of the last seasons he should be more valuable later on when his salary comes down
Maybe he still has some fans around the league but I dont expect much on that front tbqh.
I actually think the look is much less bad with the injury. If we sign him to the cheap deal and then trade him right away because he is not playing well (or worse to take advantage of the signing) that is not good, but he is out the rest of the year and we are trying to make a push. I think the optics are better in that case.
