While I am not suggesting him as a big minutes guy, I think Chriss is fine as the active four alongside Porzingis who serves to protect him during the regular season. I love what I have seen from Chriss in these games.

Porzingis/Powell

This of course presumes we don't trade KP. I love your idea of dumping THJ for an expiring if we can do it without spending assets. I simply don't think the Mavs can afford to let Brunson and or DFS walk, unless in the case of Brunson that a true star is coming back in return. 

In the playoffs, Brunson would replace Chriss in the starting lineup, since "protecting KP from center wear-and-tear" would be less of a concern.

I'm likely a sucker, but what we have seen from JB, JG, DFS, RB, and MC during Luka's absence has made me believe that this team is actually more talented and deep than we thought. Luka and KP still don't fit together, but perhaps they could string together a good run. Which would of course be disappointing for our prospects in this year's draft, but oh well. Dumping THJ is key.

I think a starting lineup with Chriss/DFS/Green is going to struggle offensively.  

Why is dumping THJ key?  I mean if we are planning on staying under the tax, dumping THJ is one of the better ways to do it, but if Cuban is willing to pay tax, why do we need to dump him?  He still provides value, even if he is overpaid.
