Maxi to Lakers ..
Wood/Nunn to Mavs
THT / Brunson to Houston
Well I looked it up. There are 11 players that average more than Brunson´s 7.1 APG as a starter.
Here are their average salaries
44.1M
42.8M
41.8M
34.5M
30.0M
29.5M
27.0M
25.0M
15.5M
8.2M
7.0M
If you want that player to also average more than Brunson´s 19.7 PPG....
...the list becomes James Harden, Trae Young, Damian Lillard and Nikola Jokic.
If it´s that easy, you should call Nico and tell him how we can easily get one of those four, cause I sure like to have them.
The lowest paid player that is not on a rookie contract is at $15.5M per year. That´s Dejounte Murray.
I think it´s a mistake to underestimate the (trade) value of his recent performances. It´s certainly a pipedream to think Brunson will settle for $10M/year. It might actually work in our favour (in a worst case). Even the often quoted Knicks have committed salaries of $110M.
