Let us all take a moment and appreciate Jalen Brunson. I've got to be honest and say that I somehow expected that kind of play from him. We saw the same thing from him last season, but in a smaller scale. I find it bizzare that the fans treat the Mavs players as if they have little to no room for improvement, while all the other teams have amazing prospects that'll be better then our whole roster in no time. Let's enjoy and appreciate what we have!
That being said, Brunson's game reminds me of a player's game we all hoped to get this offseason - Goran Dragić. They are both left-handed, both crafty scorers who know how to score in the paint, both have a floater/midrange game, and some playmaking. They share the same strenghts and scoring repertoire.
I think that JB is a serious 6MOY candidate, if he loses his starter job. And he really isn't that expensive with his new potential contract IMO.
I think the Mavs are better off keeping/extending JB. He has shown improvement every season, and he still has room to grow. I wouldn't include him in any potential KP trade, as that would be selling him low...
The Mavs also must not be desperate to trade KP, as he is a negative asset at the moment. We don't have the luxury to spend assets, as we are low on them. We can't get an impact player in the return for KP IMO
