I don´t think the Mavs changed their (Cubans) approach. They just added different. Hopefully better recruiters.
You might be right, but I hope you are wrong.
My gut says that Nico is going to have more authority and will be able to more easily convince Cuban of his game plan than Donnie was. I frankly think Cuban thought Donnie was dumber than he was and I get the impression that alpha-Nico will be able to go toe-to-toe with Cuban and convince him of new directions. Shoot, if Parsons was able to convince Cuban he knew what was up, then Nico should be able to. I just really think Cuban didn't respect Donnie's intelligence.
I don't think Nico will pull the trigger on KP "just because" unless the Mavs slide out of the playoff hunt. Nico seems to be a hard negotiator and so I anticipate him really looking hard at deals for KP before he takes one. BUT I still predict that Nico will trade KP by this summer and really shake up this roster in the process, bringing in "his guys." It frankly wouldn't shock me if ALL the starters that began this season (KP, DP, DFS, THJ) are all traded by this summer. Honestly I am expecting and guessing that KP, DP, JB, and DFS are all traded.
