Burke...he's a good dude, and I have no problems with his no vax stance at all...but he had one good run, the Mavs overreacted and I'd rather have Dennis come get buckets off the bench and think he would do a better job of it also.
My stance has nothing to do with dreams... I ultimately want production. I think Terry can play - or has potential to be a player. If you have to wait a bit for him to get whatever issues he has on a rookie min contract to realize that potential from a 15th man, I am good with that. That said, we are not privy to any of that - and I imagine the Mavs are. If they cut him, they will view it as a lost cause. I already view Burke in that light. He hasn't given us anything that I would miss and would much rather take a flyer on pretty much most prospects over carrying his big bag of nothing. Just not high on his value beyond the fact that he has a contract that is higher than Terry's (or insert another name here). I think if fall into the camp that the last couple of bench seats should be prospects and not marginal vets. You don't need those guys to win a playoff series THIS year. But you want them to be filling spots in the future. That, imo is one of the greatest shortcomings of the MBT over the years... player development.
