2021-2022 MAVS NEWS: 4th in West | WCF loss [ARCHIVED]

Brown and Hinton are splitting the rMLE or most of it (they fit and can be done last so they don't count against cap right now).  BTW, this might explain why Brown is reported at less than the BAE amount.

Bullock is coming through space.

I think this leaves really close to the room needed to do Powell/Burke for Dragic using the remaining space (recall those two don't trade match Dragic based on the $5mm+$100k rule).

I think you'd have to pull the QO on Hinton for about 5 seconds and then immediately sign him using part of the rMLE.

Powell/Burke as the outgoing solves some of the roster glut at two positions.

KP/WCS/Boban/Moses
DFS/Maxi
Bullock/Brown/Hinton
THJ/Dragic/Green
Luka/Brunson/Terry

Nice thoughts.   Are TPE ever really valuable?  It seems like most times you let them expire or use them for Josh Richardson's of the world.   There are probably a few examples of really good gets, but most time they wind up being not valuable at all.

So if you could use the TPE to get Bullock, I would view that as a positive if it still kept some cap space available.

TL/DR- Is the TPE a valuable asset?

Cato said Timmy was going to get 4/80 from another team.  So I guess we got a discount if we believe his report of what he was told.

Cato also mention old Moses Brown may not be on the team at the start of the year.  So one less center to worry about.  I like old Moses Brown but whatever.

I do believe it, and I'm pretty sure the team was Detroit.

Yes. But on the other hand, this, along with the other move Toronto just made that Kamm posted have me wondering if something has been decided, and since no Dallas trade has been announced yet, I have a bad feeling.

I just wonder whether Dragic officially talking on twitter about leaving Miami and the leak from Toronto about releasing Hood happening within like 10 minutes of each other is coincidence, or if something has been decided behind the scenes, stopping the log jam. If so, and the Dallas trade we expect hasn't been announced, I wonder if it might be dead.

But, I might be "dot-connecting" too much, lol.

They have to iron out the details of the KP for Siakam swap first. Be patient.

Well, if true, this begs the question:

Would attaching any of those three assets be worth it?

I bet we'll see a variety of opinions on this.

It will start as a simple....

Mavs: "Hey how about Dragic for DP?"

Raps: "We need JB in that deal then."

Mavs: "JB? Hey, he is an important cornerstone for us. We would need more than Dragic. How about Siakam and then KP going your way to match salaries?"

Raps: "Going to need DFS in that deal."

Mavs: "Hmmmmmmm..............DONE."

I'd only attach Brunson if Siakam is involved. I wouldn't even consider Brunson for Dragic. I like Dragic, but he's on the back end of his career.

I think most would agree, and I don't think the Mavs would really even consider Powell/Bruson for Dragic (could be wrong).

But, I can see the Mavs attaching Terry or Green, and I bet that would make people around here irate. I think I might hate that, even, and I have quite a bit of belief in what Dragic would do for this team. I honestly think he might even be worth such a price, especially since making a year of Powell's deal vanish is part of the deal, but idk...the Mavs are really stripped of attractive, young assets. I'm not sure they can afford to make that deal, given their current circumstances.

I just realized why you're so insistent that it's DFS and not Kleber included in this fantasy.

IT'S ALL ABOUT JOSH GREEN'S MINUTES, ISN'T IT???!!!!!!

I really do wonder if there's any chance we can get Siakam without involving KP.

Luka
THJ
Bullock
Siakam
KP
