Maybe after a few days, some team would need a big, or maybe some team would be desperate for a PG and would offer something of good value for Brunson and at the same time take DP as a consequence.
Now if they can't trade DP and the season starts:
7 bigs is definitely top heavy, but when you look at em', 4 of them do not require heavy and consistent minutes. KP will have his load management / smaller injury issues and Maxi and DP will be somewhat constants.
Not expecting the Mavs to carry 7 bigs beyond the TDL.
I guess my thinking would be, why sign WCS if the plan was for another big? Couldn't that money have gone towards Holmes if that was the plan? WCS in free agency would most likely be sitting out there a while (it's how we got him in the first place). Even if you missed on Holmes and WCS got picked up elsewhere, there are big men like Dwight Howard and Noel out there. It just doesn't ad up. I don't think we'll move Dwight as it will be too expensive.
