At the end of the day, Ball is both young and good, and having him on a multiyear deal on the same timeline as Zion and Ingram is still New Orleans’ best option. Keeping him also lets them re-sign Hart and use their full mid-level exception — and hopefully build the team in a more organic way than relying on the cap-space fairy to save them.
In all honesty, this would be the best possible outcome for New Orleans imo. It is a strange fitting team, but they would be filled with young, established talent. Plus, they have several young 1-3 year players with potential. If things don't work out, they may be the leaders with the team with the best young assets.
If I was a NO fan, I think I would be rooting for this exact scenario.
