The DeRozan to the Lakers story is interesting. It could just be basketball media thinking the Lakers/LeBron deserve everything or it could be some of the horseshit that they always seem to get gifted.
If that did happen and putting my interest and the Mavs interest aside, I do wonder if leaving the Lakers would be more attractive for THT if a team promised him a bigger role. I also wonder if there is something that could work out to said team and the Lakers who will be tight on money for free agent signings.
Regarding Brunson being used to dump Powell, I don't think that is enough compensation and I don't think that is smart asset management. If you can't get something attractive for Brunson now, there is always the trade deadline. Injuries happen or a would-be contender could be looking for a little extra sugar.
Regarding WCS, I just don't get it. 10% of the time he looks like a world beater, 40% of the time he looks like a rotational big, 50% of the time he looks like he should be out of the league. We have this pu pu platter of big men, none that rebound particularly well, and none that our stat enough to deal with the few more traditional centers in the league. Just feels like we could come up with a better pu pu platter.
