You pointed out a while ago that Oladipo can just sign a 1 year deal with the Heat at a moderate salary, after which the Heat obtain his bird rights and can then theoretically throw an absurd amount at him if he's still good.
Hypothetically if the Mavs traded for Dipo before free agency (lets say a draft night trade) wouldn't that same scenario apply since his contract doesn't end until after August 1st? As in the Mavs can give him a 1 year deal and then get his bird rights next offseason?
