Not sure where to put this (probably the free agency thread), but was listening to Hardwood Knocks yesterday and Sabreena Merchant (SB Nation in LA) was the guest. She is probably most worried about LAC not being able to keep Batum and LAL losing Caruso who she believes will get good offers from other teams. She said Caruso's two man numbers with Lebron are the best of ANY player Lebron has played with in his entire career. Let that sink in. She said he just knows how to be that complimentary player to a superstar.
He plays really good defense. Sabreena made the point that Milwaukee won the series by mucking up the game and not allowing Phoenix to play what she called "the beautiful game". She said with limited ways to improve the offense (especially when Lebron sits and things go to hell), they may have to go a similar route and just play a more disruptive game. I tend to think Kidd may want to go in a similar direction and actually play D rather than just talk about it. Good news, he's not a Rich Paul guy. The Caru-show coming to Dallas would be another attempt at putting a 3D guard next to Luka. This time, the head coach would have also been lead scout on whether he can do the job better than DWright or JRich.
