It is surprising how big a role he had in the regular season. In fact, he led the team in regular season minutes. His shot attempts and three attempts and assists were similar in the playoffs to what they were in the regular season (but his shooting was wildly inconsistent from series to series). That would be one of my worries...he's been pretty hot and cold from three throughout his career.
LAC used him differently than he's been used in his career (cut the assist % in half and usage was way down because of it). He was better at D than he's been in the past (and able to guard multiple positions). He's been pretty consistent about being an on-court positive through his career, but last year's version was far different than the high usage on a bad team guy we saw through much of his career in Charlotte. Since we are spending $30 million on our center, we probably need to cover PF much less expensively. We could do much worse than Batum and Maxi sharing the position.
