I am already off Lauri. I just don't think Dallas has the package to make it work. I mean, maybe they could if they put their youngsters in a package, but I just don't think I would do that now. Ask me in two weeks though.
So I am looking at low cost guys who might be attractive if we have BAE type money. Millsap is still the top of the list for me. He is not the same guy he was two years ago and has been playing in a very beneficial system with Jokic, but I think he would still be a productive player. He can actually dribble some which would put him ahead of the rest of our big guys.
As far as the rest, if you squint hard enough you may be able to find an attractive piece. It is not a sure thing though. DJ Wilson has had some moments. Same with Denzel Valentine. I really liked Jared Vanderbilt as a second round pick a few years ago. Harry Giles was pretty bad last year and not able to crack Portland's rotation. Is there anything there worth betting on? But are those guys better than what we have?
Maybe there are some trade options, but I don't see a lot of names that excite me over our flawed roster.
I would love to sign this years Bobby Portis. A veteran who bounced around some who signs for 3 millionish and after the season looks to be 3x that cost. They are out there somewhere. Maybe it is Sterling Brown
