There are maybe 4 teams that have interest in Lauri at this point. Spurs, Pelicans, Hornets, and Dallas. The first and last of those might be stretches however, but lets just include them. Out of those 4 who will want Lauri for a FRP?
Maybe the Pelicans? Ok sure. Now the next obstacle is what Lauri's contract will be? More than 9.5M which is his QO for a start. Pels have a 17M trade exception. So what 15? 17? At that point you're handing Lauri at the minimum 45-51M for 3 years on top of a FRP in a market that was all but dried up for that player.
Is that a smart way to build a team? I like Lauri but if that's what he's going for count me out.
Lauri would have to want to come here and take the discount
