I can’t say who wanted to meet with the Mavs but I can say that waiting on Dragic ( who is one slip away from having a broken hip due to osteoporosis) is not the solution.

I don't think they are waiting for Dragic.  I'm guessing Nico's mind set is:  Would he be nice to have?  Sure.  Are we going to pay anything of value for him?  Absolutely not.

I think it's fine to question the strategy of the roster as it sits today, but I'm not going to judge Nico on what happens with Dragic.  The old guard probably would have made a bad decision and traded for him and that's probably what Ujiri expected when he accepted the deal from the Heat in the first place.
