The issue with LM is Chicago has already shown a willingness to pay him $9mm with the QO. They are pretty thin in the front court with Tony Bradley the only real center behind Vuc. Patrick Williams plays the 3 and the 4. If you assume he's the full time four and the three is covered by DeRozan/Brown, then without LM, they have a hole at backup PF also. So, there is a reason to bring him back and they are far enough below the tax that they can offer something in the mid teens.
All that to say, Dallas probably can't just absorb him into the TPE. It would probably be under the cap and we'd have to send back some players. It isn't hard to imagine Chicago being fine with WCS. But, filling in some of their need at backup PF starts to get a bit painful as we only have two of those and both are fan favorites.
